Why I started project aviator

Hi, I’m Ramakrishnan — a licensed commercial pilot and ground instructor with valuable flight experience.

From the moment I dreamt of becoming a pilot as a child, I had no idea how expensive chasing that dream would be. The first real obstacle was the sheer cost of pilot training. When I began researching, the financial commitment felt overwhelming. Convincing my parents to invest such a significant amount in my dream was nothing short of a mountain to climb. But with time, belief, and persistence, they came on board. Today, I proudly stand as a commercial pilot and experienced ground instructor — ready to take the next leap into the airline cockpit.

The training journey – not all smooth skies

Once I got into flight school, I realized being a pilot isn’t just about loving airplanes — it’s about discipline, dedication, and constantly pushing yourself. The first few months were intense. Ground school was no joke — aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, and loads of theory that I never imagined I’d have to deal with. And then came flying… the real reason I signed up for all of this.

I still remember my first solo flight. It was just a few minutes in the circuit (18 minutes exactly), but when I landed and taxied back alone, that feeling was something else. Pure joy, pride, and a little bit of disbelief. It made all those long study nights and stressful check rides worth it. But it wasn’t always glamorous — there were days I messed up radio calls, struggled with crosswind landings, some times even forgot to remove the pitot cover or just felt completely overwhelmed.

From single engines to twin engines – leveling up

After building my basics in single-engine aircraft like the Cessna 152 and 172, it was time to step things up — multi-engine training. That’s when I got introduced to the Piper Seneca. Flying a twin was a whole new game. More power, more systems, and more responsibility. Handling engine failures during training was intense. You’re taught to stay calm and think like a professional, even when one engine suddenly “fails” mid-air (thankfully just a simulation most of the time!).

Every step felt like unlocking a new level — and with each level came a lot of learning, mistakes, and growth. I started understanding what it really meant to be in command of an aircraft, not just flying it.

The unexpected love for teaching

Somewhere along the way, I discovered how much I enjoy teaching. I started helping juniors with their subjects, explaining concepts during study groups, and eventually stepped into the role of a ground instructor. It was never part of the original plan — but it became one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey.

Teaching not only sharpened my own knowledge but also gave me a chance to give back. I’ve been in the shoes of confused, overwhelmed students. Now I get to help them make sense of it all — whether it’s understanding navigation, decoding instrument systems, or just preparing them mentally for flight tests.

And now comes the reason Why I started Project Aviator

Looking back, I know how tough this journey can be — not just financially, but mentally and emotionally too. I’ve faced the doubts, the setbacks, and the stress that comes with chasing a dream like this. That’s exactly why I started Project Aviator.

I wanted to create a space where aspiring pilots don’t feel lost or alone. A place where learning is simplified, guidance is real, and support is always within reach. With Project Aviator, my goal is to make quality pilot training more accessible, affordable, and effective — especially for those who, like me, once felt that this dream was too far out of reach.

Whether it’s mastering the subjects, clearing your exams, or just needing someone to guide you through the process — this platform is here to help you every step of the way. Because I truly believe that with the right support, anyone can take off toward their aviation dreams.
